Purpose of Music Ministry

The mission of the Music Ministry is to facilitate Praise & Worship as integral parts of the overall worship experience and ministry of the church. The overall goal is to encourage all worshippers to be involved in worship with the objective that all will be motivated beyond the worship experience to become effective witnesses and workers in sharing the gospel message and to become vessels to carry out God’s purpose and plan.

*Short Bio of Leader of Ministry

Dec. Duane Yarborough is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his musical training at the age of 15 years old under the instruction of a private tutor. After several years of instruction, he continued to develop his skills and on occasion entered into musical courses that further enhanced his ability. He started playing for church choirs, concerts, and talent shows during his college years. In 1985, he served as an assistant musician for First Baptist Church in Louisburg, NC. Upon relocating to Charlotte, NC in 1990, he continued to fill in as a musician at various churches in the area. In 2001, the Lord led him to the Watts Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe NC where he has served as the Music Ministry Director until the present time.
